Hey Arcadians -
You get to choose.
At the end of our very first Arcadia Leadership Experience, I stood in front of everyone and got a little teary as I addressed the group, which if you know me, you know is not really my thing.
That moment has stayed with me in a way I didn’t expect, because I was standing in front of fifty people who had flown across the country trusting a pretty wild nudge that Jason and I had, which was to create intentional experiences for the humans behind GTM in the mountains of Montana and it was surreal to be in the final moments of something that had once lived only as an idea.
Standing there, holding back tears with a shaky voice and a lot of gratitude, I said something to the effect of: This is proof. This is proof that you can take an idea that feels slightly insane and actually do it. This is proof that many of the rules we follow are made up, and with enough courage, you can decide to write your own. This is proof that what you want to build is possible.
Mostly, I was talking to myself in that moment, and it’s something I come back to often.
Last week, Jason and I hosted our first local community event for Bozemanites called Bozeman Nights, where we interviewed James Murphy, the co founder and CEO of LMNT, and it was a packed house full of people craving connections with others doing interesting work in our town.
That event came from a desire to meet more people in our local community and create a space where conversations could happen naturally.
In September, we launched the Arcadia Constellation, an online community for GTM leaders who want to build exceptional careers and full lives, because we were looking for a place we wanted to belong and couldn’t quite find it.
And we just opened applications for our third annual Arcadia Leadership Experience, happening July 27- 30 in Montana, which exists because we decided to build the event we wished we could attend.
You know the saying - ask the question because someone else probably has the same one. Lately, my version of that has become this. Build the thing, because someone else probably wants it too.
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, create it. We have to keep reminding ourselves of that. And choosing to believe it has changed everything.

In the Constellation, we are kicking off February with Dave Hyem as he discusses the Lessons in Leadership he acquired from 36 Years as a Boeing Executive. We will discuss the skills you can implement today to be a better leader in your work and life.
Jason and I did a rare episode on the Friends with Benefits podcast discussing what its like to build together and what is next.
If you live near Bozeman, our next Bozeman Nights community event is 2/19 with the Head Coach of the National Champion MSU Bobcat team - Brent Vigen. You can register here.
Be great. Be Arcadia.
