It's all your choice.

Today is my birthday. I love my birthday - it feels very spiritual to me. The day that we came into this life and an annual reminder to slow down and reflect. I know some people just let their birthday go on like another day - and if thats your jam - good on you. I am a firm believer that every chance to celebrate is a good one. Big or small.

I have obviously had this birthday for now 36 years but, I recently learned that the month of June actually holds spiritual significance.  A simple google search returns:
“June is often associated with themes of provision, abundance, and growth. It's a time for manifestation, gratitude, and honoring the light within, as well as deepening one's spiritual connection. The month also carries symbolism related to strength, stability, and the fulfillment of desires.“

Here in Montana, this time of year, the sky doesn’t get completely dark until nearly 11pm. The days hold so much more light and potential. Last night I wanted to stay up and look at the stars - Jason and I not being night owls at all anymore, taped our eyelids open until the stars stared to pop through. 

We made it though! We laid in the backyard as the sky darkened and the far off balls of gas started to scatter through the sky. I love looking at the stars - especially here, where they are so bright. They really put things into perspective for me. The BIG things that we toil over are often actually just so small in comparison. We have the gift of being chosen to have a life here - to stay up until 11, lay on the ground and think about all of the possibilities we have available to us in this life. 

Take a minute today - actually do it right this second. Close your eyes, put your hand on your chest, take a deep breath, and take it all in. We are the lucky ones who get to wake up, take a deep breath and make the day what we want it to be. Now go get it.
